Another Boring Post

Hey, So I have had some great pleasure this summer. I have had time to spend with my beautiful girl. Who I have to say is very attached to me lately. But also I have had time to myself as well. I have been able to read a lot of books and some of them are very educating me on how to raise Ginny and any future Children we have. Also how to keep my marriage strong. But also how to be a better teacher when I finally get my own classroom. In a couple short weeks my summer will come to a close and I will not have much time to do anything except be a mom and do homework. It's going to be hard this semester and next semester. But I know the end is in sight when I will have my own classroom and be able to share my knowledge that I have acquired. It's an amazing experience and I really can't wait to go through them. Kendra

Free Things to Do During the Summer

Hey, We are so lucky to live here in Emporia. We have the small town atmosphere but we also have a large city atmosphere as well. This summer, we have tried to get into doing a lot of things that has been going on here. We signed Ginny up for the summer reading program at the library. It's free and it encourages kids to read. Of course Ginny can't read but it also counts minutes that a parent or a loved one reads to them. Ginny had 1800 minutes of being read to. Each week you have to fill out a booklet that had one page to fill. There was 100 minutes each week but you could read over it. Well..it's nine weeks long and Ginny went twice that. She loves books and will keep bringing books over and over. But they also have things that they did. They had a thing called kindermusik that we went to and listened to music and danced. Then we also went to the story time. Also they had a concert or a performer on Wednesdays. All for free and for kids to enjoy.
Then Emporia also had their band play at a park on Thursday nights. Of course since it's been so hot the High School in town let the band play inside for free.
Also free fireworks for the fourth of July.
This week we have the Lyon County Fair and there is also a parade tomorrow. It will be hard to leave this place that we have called home if I get a job somewhere else. But I can't wait to explore each place as it comes to me. Kendra

Saying Goodbye to Johanna and Karl

Hey, So on August 6th, my sister-in-law Johanna and brother-in-law Karl will be moving away from the family. They will be moving to Hawaii as Karl is stationed there for at least three years. It's sad to see them go but exciting for them to explore the new adventures that will await them. What's hard for me is that we won't be able to see them go as we just can't find the time to make it up there before. Johanna is like the little sister that I never had. I love talking to her and even exchanging books with her. We have the same taste in books and it's a lot of fun. I had a blast of having a chance to hang out with her. We had a blast of a girls day. Karl and I got to know each other through our drive back and forth from Olathe to college. We had wonderful conversations in the car as we talked about what it was like to date a Mitts kid. We had a blast to just get to know each other. I know we will all miss them and we are glad that they are getting this chance. We love you Jojo and Karl! Kendra

Pigtails...

Hey, So I had nothing much to do today. So, I have been having a lot of people put ponytails in Ginny's hair. I have tried without success to get it right. So I thought...I wonder if Ginny has enough hair for pig tails. So...here are some pictures of my pigtails tries.

I have to say that I did a pretty good job. Here's some pictures I took today.

A Week of Swim Lessons

Hey, So this week Ginny started her swim lessons. Ginny was clinging on to me like a death grip the first day. By the end of the week swimming. Ginny can almost swim on her front by herself. She's really good at moving her arms and kicking at the same time. Also she now makes sure to keep her mouth closed when it comes to the water. Ginny loves the water which I am glad for. As I love to swim.
