Life is How You Make It

Hey, Nothing major is going on right now. Other then we try to get outside as much as possible and get as much sleep as we can. I was able to finally get the double jogging stroller that I wanted so that was super exciting. I am already putting it in so much use with the kiddos. Though we took a week break from walks as the morning were so humid here in Kansas. We have been doing great and enjoying spending time with each other.

Stephen and I were able to go to the temple just recently. I still can't believe that I can finally go through it anytime that I want to as long as I am living the commendments. Anyways, so it was really neat. Plus, I helped my mother-in-law Char be sealed to her parents for all time and eternity. Stephen and I were proxys of her parents during the sealing. It was so so so amazing. I can't wait to help my own ancestors on my mother's side get their temple blessings.

Ginny also thought it would totally be great to make the biggest mess in awhile. I love her but at times it's hard having a three year old. She decided to paint the kitchen table with yogert as well as the floor. While I put Miles down for his nap of the day. Charlie was coming up the stairs while I was going down and said, "You are not going to like what is happening down stairs." I am not sure how quickly I got down the stairs I just know that I was steaming. Though, I have to say the incident of the yogert still did not over top the incident of Miles eating vasline while I was in the bathroom. I am glad this time I took a picture.

But it's the inspiring and watching my children grow into little people that amaze me so much. Ginny loves to look at books and makes up her own stories while she reads them based off the pictures. Or the time that Miles finally said, "Mama" to me. Or the time that Ginny brought me the Book Mormon stories book and asked me to read it to her at bedtime. It's those moments that make the hard moments disappear.

Because they won't stay little much longer no matter how hard I try. It might not be easy to be a stay-at-home mom, but then I remember what I missed out on while I was studying for my career. It makes it that much harder to go out to the career field and leave those precious babies behind. Because they have grown so much since the first time I was able to lay my eyes on them.

Ginny had Surgery

So in July, we found out that Ginny had pretty bad teeth. It was something as a mom I did not really want to happen to my three year old. They told us they knew of at least four root canals but there might be more. So we scheduled a surgery date which was August 1st. The morning of August 1st, left me nervous for my little girl. She could not eat anything all morning which is hard to explain to a three year old. We ended up watching Frozen all morning to keep her mind off of her hunger pains.

Then it was time to head out. My mom happen to take off to comfort me during the ordeal. Ginny was given a shot at the beginning to make her super relax. She did not cry so the medicine had awhile to work in her system. Soon though she lost all head control and neck control and was zoning. She went in and had the work done and I sat in the waiting room hoping and praying she was okay. I was very blessed that my little girl got a priesthood blessing from her Dad (Stephen) and Grandpa (John) the night before. They came out and told us she was doing great and we would be able to see her soon. When I went in to see her she was wrapped in a blanket, like you would with a newborn in the nurses arms. She was sound asleep. When she awoke she barely had neck control and was very out of it. First thing she said, "I NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR!" She was a trooper though through the whole thing. We found out that she had not four root canals but sixteen of them. Slowly she became her normal self.

Walking, Walking, Just Keep Walking

So this past week after gaining five pounds over my anniversary weekend. I decided it was time to start working on losing weight. Well, I love taking walks with the kiddos so off we went. The first day we walked over five miles...oops. It was too much too soon. Then it's been two to three miles a day either with the kids or by myself. I am loving it and so far really getting into losing the weight...

Anniversary Weekend!

So Stephen and I had planned that we would have a stay-cation of sorts for our fifth year anniversary. My mom was brave enough to watch the kiddos for three days two nights while we were gone. It was Miles first time to be away from me overnight so it was different. Stephen and I left the day of our anniversary on the eleventh to check in to our hotel at Hawthorn. Though before we got there we had to stop by 7-11 to pick up our free slurrpies. It's kind of a tradition to do that on our anniversary every year. Our room was really nice at the hotel and we settled in. We decided to watch a couple of food network television then head out to swim in the pool for an hour. We came back and were ready to go out to eat for dinner which we decided when we left that we would eat at Oklahoma Joes...but...we ended up eating at Longhorn Steakhouse instead. It was so very good. We then headed to Barns Noble and I was able to get two books while I was there and Stephen even picked up a book for himself. We then stopped at Yankee Candles (because Stephen and I love candles. Let's just say our first date ever was picking out a scent of candle that we consider our relationship candle) We spent an hour there smelling different candles and talking to the ladies that worked there. We bought some things there and then we picked up snacks for our hotel room. That night...you would have thought we would have slept but most of the night we relaxed and watched more food network shows. Saturday, we got up early and headed to breakfast. We then relaxed until the stores opened up where we hung out for the rest of the day. It just happened that they were having a huge sidewalk sale. I was able to get a couple of shirts, a vera wang wallet for myself and my mom, and some other things. Stephen was able to get five video games at a store there. We even had panera's for lunch and cookies later on for dessert. That night after a swim we headed out to have Macroni Grill for supper. We just happened to have the manager for our waiter and treated Stephen and I to free dessert for our anniversary. We then headed to some more stores and then picked up two slices of cheesecake from the cheesecake factory. That night we were able to get some sleep which was nice. It was a really nice weekend to have just the two of us and be able to spend it with my husband. On our tenth we are planning to make it a Branson week. Kendra

Fourth of July

This fourth of July we decided it was best to not go to the firework show her in Olathe. So we bought some poppers to go with the kids. The kids loved it. Also we went on a breakfast picnic with my mom's ward.

More First!

So Ginny had a lot of first this last couple of weeks. She had her first dental x-rays and her teeth cleaned for the first time. We found out that she has several really bad teeth and will be having sugery on August 1st on her mouth.

Then she was able to get her hair cut for the first time.

Ginny also had the chance to ride a pony for the first time.
